orkut is unique, because it’s an organically growing network of trusted friends. That way we won’t grow too large, too quickly and everyone will have at least one person to vouch for them.
If you know someone who is a member of orkut, that person can invite you to join as well. If you don’t know an orkut member, wait a bit and most likely you soon will.

这个网站的想法和我这些天的思考的简直是一拍即合，让我又惊又叹。于是我立刻修书一封写给他们的管理员：
Dear sir/madam,
I do have a question. I love this orkut idea, but nobody of my friends has the pass of your website, they can’t invite me either. Yes, I don’t know an orkut member. I can wait to join you guys, but what if neither of my friends know you, I have to stay outside for a long long time.
How can I give the definition of friends? I’m a Chinese living in Boston right now, I run a website named paowang.net, in English that means pickle, dunk or steep on Internet deeply. I don’t know you yet, but I write to you, and try to let you know me a little. And now, I’m not a stranger to you anymore. You guys got this fantastic idea, do you want to share the pleasure with me?
